Preparing you for birth while helping build your community, MAIA's Kristin Kali brings you this one-of-a-kind, queer centered and gender inclusive childbirth class in Altadena, CA. This two-day, weekend-intensive class provides complete preparation for hospital, birth center or home birth, including:

  • anatomy and physiology of birth
  • coping with labor
  • comfort measures for birth
  • partner support
  • decision-making during labor
  • what to expect in the first hours and days with your new baby

Our curriculum draws from Penny Simkin’s childbirth prep materials as well as the Birthing From Within philosophy. Queer-specific topics such as intentional family-building, gender identity and expression, and the central role of nongestational parents are woven throughout the childbirth preparation material. Presented with a blend of lecture, group discussion, experiential learning, and inner exploration, this class is an experience not to be missed!
